What You Need To Know

Kauai Marriage License Information
No residence or citizenship requirements. Legal age to marry is 18 years of age for the bride and the groom. Proper identification for the bride and groom in the form of a valid driver's license/picture ID showing your name and date of birth. No birth certificate is required. If either partner has been married before, he or she will have to state the date, county and state (or country) in which the divorce was finalized for each previous marriage. The license also requires the names of each partner's parents and the places where they were born. There is no waiting period. You are free to marry once a license is obtained. There is a $60 wedding license fee, paid in cash, to the licensing agent. Joyful Weddings can make an appointment for you with a licensing agent closest to your accommodations.

Confirmation of Your Wedding Date
To confirm a date, a deposit of 50% is due 10 days after reservations are made. Payment is accepted by Credit Card Check, Money Order, Certified Check, Traveler's Check, or Personal Check. The remaining 50% must be paid 15 business days before the wedding date. A wedding contract will be sent to you detailing the options you have selected.

Copy of Wedding Ceremony
Upon request, a copy of the ceremony can be e-mailed, faxed or U.S. Postal mailed to you. We welcome any changes you would like to make. We invite you to create a ceremony that is uniquely yours.

Cancellation Policy
If cancellation is made two weeks prior to your wedding, a $200 cancellation fee will be deducted from your returned deposit. In addition, any prepaid arrangements like flowers, wedding cake, or special requests will also be deducted from you returned deposit. No refunds will be given if cancellation is made with less than two weeks remaining to your wedding date.

Hawaii State Tax
All wedding services are subject to a 4.17% Hawaii Tax.
